Stacy is a former principal and teacher, a proud Vandal parent, and an honorary alumnus of the University of Idaho. Despite experiencing an unfathomable family tragedy, Stacy has found a new purpose as a public speaker, author, and founder of Ethan’s Smile Foundation. Through the foundation, Stacy supports students in pursuit of post-high school dreams in Ethan’s memory.

Melissa Brown, also known as “Mrs. Brown,” was the triplets’ 1 st grade teacher at Conway School in 2009-2010. Melissa best remembers Ethan for the kindness, inclusivity, and enthusiasm he exemplified not only in 1st grade, but throughout his life. As the foundation’s director, Melissa’s goal is to honor Ethan’s legacy and share his bright light with the world. She is currently working toward a certificate in nonprofit management through the University of Washington.

Susie DeVries is Stacy’s childhood best friend. The DeVries and Chapin children grew up together and are now all students at the University of Idaho. Susie is a branch manager and senior loan officer at Evergreen Home Loans in Mount Vernon, WA.
